Ozzie Wright’s Hand-Painted Surfboards Are Floating Works of Art

Aside from Kelly Slater, has any surfer had a longer or more illustrious career than Ozzie Wright? He's definitely the longest-tenured professional free surfer of all time, and he's inspired surfers from at least three generations. Many trends have come and gone in the last 30 years, yet Wright's never wavered as the person, personality, or surfer that he is.

With what must be the most wide-ranging quiver of any surfer in the world – with shapes from craftsmen like Mark Gnech, Joel Fitzgerald, Ryan Burch, and Jim Banks – Wright's boards vary in size from five to seven feet and are all entirely different designs.
