Rob Machado Built His Entire Winter Quiver of Surfboards (Video)

It’s a little different than your standard winter quiver,” Rob Machado admits. “It’s evolved, as have I. I still try to surf every day, and I need a quiver like this to keep me in the water and keep me excited.”

In my mind, I can already picture what the affable longhaired and perennial goofyfoot style scion rides around his local beachies and reefs. But what am I going to do, not what him surf? Per Firewire’s new video below, Rob reveals his four-board winter quiver that is entirely or partly his own design: a 6'8" Seaside & Beyond, 5'2" Seaside, 5'4" Mashup, and 5'4" Groove — all stock dims FYI. Rob has had a hand in all of these shapes through Machado Surfboards and Firewire. The Mashup is the only one that doesn’t solely originate from him. It’s a collaboration between him and 2025 Boardroom Shaper Dan Mann.

Rob’s surfing is basically art, so it makes sense he’d use music as a metaphor to describe his models. Here is the nuts and bolts of it, going from cruise-control at the start to more high performance at the end:
