Two months ago, SURFER launched its Clips of the Summer competition. Partnering with our friends at 5 Hour Energy, the plan was to give $1,000 away every week for the best clips submitted from around the world. To be honest, we weren't sure how it would go. Needless to say, we've been pleasantly surprised.

The winner of week one was none other than Hawaiian golden boy Mason Ho. Submitting a clip from a roping swell at Ala Moana Bowls, like that the contest was off and running. A steady stream of hits kept coming after that.

Kala Grace and Jake Maki took us to the End of the Road as they chased swell to Tahiti and came up winners for a pair of heavy, slabbed-out barrels at Chopes. Not to be out done, young Maui charger Stevie Roberson (who we'll be seeing more of in the upcoming SURFER Big Wave Challenge) and Maddix Alotis got the job done at Desert Point.

Ned Hart and Eimeo Czermak added a couple more stout backhand barrels to the conversation and came away a $1,000 richer for the effort. California's Max Beach showed everyone how to properly thread a Cloudbreak pit thanks to his POV magic. And then there was Jacob "Zeke" Szekely, who was the only surfer to win outside of the tube. Throwing down a lofty combo featuring a superman followed by an air reverse, the man's a master creative in the water.

With a couple weeks left in the Clips of the Summer contest (because summer's not over until we say it is), there's still time to submit and win. Submissions are running through October 4, so don't lag. Learn more and enter here.
