Pipeline has been on fire this winter.
The legendary wave's been pretty much perfect on numerous occasions, offering prime conditions for freesurf sessions and contests.
The waves were pumping for comps like Da Hui's Backdoor Shootout, the Vans Pipe Masters, and the Lexus Pipe Pro. It's also made a handful of surfers pay their dues as it concussed big wave surfer Kai Lenny and almost killed Koa Rothman.
But yesterday, it was all fun and games at Pipe with a moderate pack in the lineup and perfect barrels all day long.
The YouTube channel Surfers of Hawaii shared the video above, captioning it:
"Filmed on February 21, 2024 at Pipeline on the North Shore of Oahu. Conditions this morning were perfect with straight off-shore winds and clear, blue water. Wave heights were in the 4-6ft range with some occasional 8ft sets.
"Everyone's focus was on the Hurley Pro at Sunset Beach so the crowd wasn't as crazy as it usually is. Watch as these surfers take advantage of the super fun surf!"
Like the caption says, it was a pretty mellow day for the North Shore even though Sunset was hosting the second contest on the World Surf League's Championship Tour.
Traffic wasn't that bad, lineups weren't that crowded, and considering the swells that have been pummeling the North Shore, the waves weren't that big.
The edit above features a bunch of Hawaii rippers including Mikey Bruneau, Lucas Godfrey, Legend Chandler, Koa Rothman, Josh Moniz, Isaiah Moniz, and Mananalu Chandler, among others.
