It was the men’s turn at Surf Abu Dhabi’s desert hideaway, and they turned in world-class performances with major shakeups to the Final 8 showdown. An absolute showcase of rail-to-rail surfing, time on the nose, and finding the curtain from Edouard Delpero set the tone with an 18.43 heat total. Delpero sent reigning World Longboard Champion Taylor Jensen to Round 2, where he kept his excellent form intact to post an 8.60. Plus, brilliance from Kevin Skvarna and Declan Wyton secured their Quarterfinal spots with 9-point rides of their own alongside Steven Sawyer, Oliver Packham, and Chase Lieder as Skvarna already locked his spot in El Salvador. Round 2 witnessed marquee eliminations to the World Longboard Title showdown following Opening Round performances that fell short of a second chance. Jensen and Tony Silvagni rose to the occasion and remained in the hunt for a place in WSL Longboard Tour history. Now, Finals Day awaits to crown the 2025 king and queen of Surf Abu Dhabi.
