Alycia Parks Breaks Silence on Training Sessions With Serena Williams

Alycia Parks, after breaking her three-match losing streak by trumping Sinja Kraus, was stopped by the Tennis Channel and was asked about her recent on-court sessions with Serena Williams.

Parks, who is the only active WTA player to have trained with Serena Williams, obliged and let the host in on what has been going on with the former World No. 1.

“I did text her when I was in the Middle East and I was like, ‘Hey, can you practice when I come back to the States?’ and she was like, ‘Yeah, let’s go.’ So we got in a few sessions and yeah, she’s been helping me. When I’m home, I would say probably three times a week,” Alycia Parks said.

Speaking about Williams’ return to professional tennis, Parks said, “I don’t know if she’s coming back. I don’t know when she’s coming back. We just get to practice. We don’t really talk too much about her coming back, just like fun stuff when we are talking.”

She also gave a quick assessment, saying Williams “looks great” and was “hitting the ball amazing.” Parks’ sound bite comes just a month after the 44-year-old was declared eligible to compete by the WTA.

Williams had not been a part of the anti-doping testing pool since she stepped away from professional tennis after the 2022 US Open. She rejoined the pool in December 2025, beginning a six-month reinstatement period that every retired player has to follow to return to competition.

Re-entering the pool has restored Serena Williams’ eligibility timeline, making her officially fit to compete again in February.

And while Serena Williams herself has not indicated or expressed any intentions of making a comeback,24-time champion Novak Djokovic showed visible excitement over the possibility in the 2026 season.

Novak Djokovic’s Forecast for Serena Williams

Speaking to reporters at the BNP Paribas Open, Novak Djokovic didn’t hold back when asked about Serena Williams.

“I think she’s coming back. I think she’s coming back,” Djokovic said. “I don’t know. I haven’t spoken to her, but I guess the sentiment is that she’s coming back.”
