Aryna Sabalenka took on an active role in trying to help a fan suffering from a heat-related illness during Thursday’s Wimbledon semifinal.
The semifinal between Sabalenka and Amanda Anisimova had to be halted a few times as fans suffered from heat issues. Temperatures soared to the mid-80s during the match, and there were several delays to treat fans.
During one in the first set, Sabalenka offered her water to one of the fans being treated. The gesture was appreciated by the Wimbledon attendees, who gave her a big ovation.

Sabalenka has courted some controversy recently, but there is no question she won over some fans with this gesture. Spectators always appreciate when the players keep the crowd in mind and even take care of them.
Sabalenka is chasing her first career Wimbledon title. The No. 1 seed has never made it past the semifinals of the tournament up to this point in her career.
