The clay court season is in full swing, with players battling it out at ATP Estoril. Only eight players remain in contention for the trophy, and as always, we at LWOT preview and predict all four matches for you, including Casper Ruud vs. Marton Fucsovics. Who do you think will advance?

ATP Estoril Quarterfinal Predictions

Richard Gasquet vs Pedro Martinez

Head to head: Gasquet 1-0 Martinez

It’s great to see Richard Gasquet still showing the world he is by no means an easy out at this level. The Frenchman has made the most of being awarded the Lucky Loser here by taking out Dominic Thiem in his first-round match. Pedro Martinez looks to be in fine touch, winning a challenger last week and dominating his first match here. However, expect the old war horse to work his magic and vary his groundstrokes to good effect.

Prediction: Gasquet in 3

Nuno Borges vs Cristian Garin

Head to head: First Meeting

Cristian Garin has had a torrid 2024 season so far, and he’ll be happy he has managed to string consecutive wins here this week. He takes on Nuno Borges who is a solid clay court player and has already taken out the third seed here. Expect Garin to put up a fight, but Borges looks stronger and in better touch to progress to the last four.

Prediction: Garin in 3

Hubert Hurkacz vs Pablo Llamas Ruiz

Head to head: First Meeting

It will be highly interesting to see how Hubert Hurkacz treats the clay court part of the season. The Pole is a decent mover and ball striker, but he has struggled to adjust in the past. His clay court campaign began with a win, and while Pablo Llamas Ruiz did extremely well in qualifying, the Spaniard is likely to struggle against the shot quality of the Pole.

Prediction: Hurkacz in 2

Marton Fucsovics vs Casper Ruud

Head to head: First Meeting

Casper Ruud had a decent beginning to 2024, reaching a couple of finals already. The Norwegian will take that confidence with him to his favourite part of the season and will surely be one of the contenders at the French Open in 2024. He started in his dominant fashion in his first round, and now he takes on a familiar face on the tour in Marton Fucsovics. The Hungarian is decent on the clay, but it is likely he will not be able to tackle the firepower that Ruud generally brings to the red dirt.

Prediction: Ruud in 2
