The ATP Tour spreads across China quite beautifully after the US Open, and the ATP Hangzhou Open was added just last year–replacing the Zhuhai Championships. Day 4 promises to be a great day of tennis and as ever, we preview and predict all matches scheduled for you.

ATP Hangzhou Day 4 Predictions

Dalibor Svrcina vs Zhizhen Zhang

Head-to-head – First Meeting

Dalibor Svrcina has impressed recently, as the 22-year-old Czech is in the Top 100 with a Challenger event win in Cancun and then has made the most of being the lucky loser this week. He took out Matteo Berrettini in a pretty solid match by Svrcina. He now faces last year’s finalist in Zhizhen Zhang, who is playing his first tournament since the Indian Wells Masters. The Chinese had a tough first round match and with Svrcina looking good, expect the Czech to progress.
Prediction: Svrcina in 3

Learner Tien vs Giulio Zeppieri

Head-to-head – First Meeting

Learner Tien has had a breakthrough year in 2025 with wins against Top 10 opponents. The 19-year-old American has started strong this week and the only notable weakness is his serve. He plays Giulio Zeppieri, who does possess the bigger serve, but Tien is more experienced already at this level and his defense should be the differentiator.
Prediction: Tien in 2

Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Rinky Hijikata

Head-to-head – First Meeting

Tomas Martin Etcheverry generally plays his best on the clay courts but the Argentine can be dangerous at times on other surfaces as well. He takes on Rinky Hijikata, who impressed in his first round match, and it should be a tight battle from the baseline. Expect Hijikata to start strong but Etcheverry is slightly more aggressive and that should aid him in progressing.
Prediction: Etcheverry in 3

Daniil Medvedev vs Nishesh Basavareddy

Head-to-head – First Meeting

Daniil Medvedev has had a pretty rough 2025 season with horrendous showings especially at the grand slam level. The Russian did talk about his recent coaching staff changes and this is his first tournament after the change. His first-round opponent is the exciting Nishesh Basavareddy who took out the defending champion Marin Cilic in the first round. Expect the 20-year-old American to not make things easy for the second seed here, but Medvedev looks likely to dominate once he settles in from the baseline.
Prediction: Medvedev in 3
