ATP Mallorca Semifinal Predictions Including Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Tallon Griekspoor

Four players remain in contention for the ATP Mallorca Championships title. As usual, the last ATP 250 events before a Slam have been rather unpredictable. But three of the four top seeds have made it to the semifinals, with Corentin Moutet being the one outlier. Who do you think will feature in Saturday’s championship match?

ATP Mallorca Semifinal Predictions

Corentin Moutet vs Alex Michelsen

Head-to-head: Moutet 1-0

It’s been over five years since Corentin Moutet made his first ATP Tour final in Doha at the start of 2020, but the Frenchman feels like he could produce a similar result in the near future. Last week at Queen’s Club he took out Taylor Fritz and now he’s reached his first main tour semifinal on grass. While he didn’t give a chance to Alex Michelsen in Monte Carlo last year, this surface makes things a lot more open. The American will need to show a lot of patience to get through Moutet’s trickery, but he has the necessary skills to hold his own in cat-and-mouse points. If he can combine that with strong serving and aggressive net play, he’s probably the slight favorite here.
Prediction: Michelsen in 3

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Tallon Griekspoor

Head-to-head: Auger-Aliassime 2-0

Tallon Griekspoor usually performs well on the grass, but this time he had to start the swing pretty late due to the injury he picked up at the French Open. Looks like he’s doing better now as the wins over Ethan Quinn and Gabriel Diallo can only be described as routine. Felix Auger-Aliassime had to work for it a little bit more in the quarterfinals, surviving a three-setter against Hamad Medjedovic.

This will be a battle of powerful ball-strikers and making impact on return won’t be an easy task. Auger-Aliassime won their two matches but it was years back and since you can basically flip a coin here, there’s no reason to think Griekspoor can’t keep it close now that he’s improved so much as a player over time.
Prediction: Griekspoor in 3
