Altmaier – Ruud: Time TBA
H2H: 0-1
Daniel Altmaier has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Vienna, Altmaier was demolished by Sinner in the opening round. This week in Paris, the German won his opening match against Giron in straight sets. Besides losing his serve once, Altmaier served well throughout the match.
Casper Ruud has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Basel, Ruud retired mid-match in the quarterfinals against Davidovich Fokina. Last season in Paris, the Norwegian lost to Thompson in the second round in straight sets. He has never made it past the quarterfinals here.
According to the bookies, Altmaier is the underdog in this matchup, and we agree. Ruud played well over the past few weeks. We expect him to be a better player and dominate on his forehand side.
That being said, Ruud covering the games handicap is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Casper Ruud +3.5 games handicap @1.83 @bet365
Auger-Aliassime – Muller: Time TBA
H2H: 2-1
Felix Auger-Aliassime has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Basel, the Canadian retired mid-match against Munar in the quarterfinals. This week in Paris, he defeated Comesana in the opening match after losing the opening set 6-7.
Alexandre Muller has lost four of his last five matches. Last week in Basel, Muller lost to Brooksby in the opening match in straight sets. This week in Paris, the Frenchman defeated Nakashima in the opening round in straight sets. He offered and saved two breakpoints.
According to the bookies, Auger-Aliassime is the favourite in this matchup, and we agree. He is a better indoor hard-court player than Muller. The Canadian played well in the past few weeks, and we expect him to dominate in this match.
That being said, Auger-Aliassime covering the games handicap is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Felix Auger-Aliassime -3.5 games handicap @1.62 @bet365
Bergs – Sinner: Time TBA
H2H: first meeting
Zizou Bergs has won three of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Brussels, Bergs lost to Collignon in the opening match in straight sets. This week in Paris, Bergs defeated Michelsen in the opening match in three tight sets.
Jannik Sinner has won eight straight matches. Last week in Vienna, Sinner won the title. He defeated Zverev in the final in three tight sets after playing for almost three hours. This will be his fourth appearance in Paris. He has never made it past the third round here.
According to the bookies, Bergs is the underdog in this matchup, but we disagree. Sinner had a rough, exhausting week in Vienna. Historically looking, the Italian never succeeded in Paris. On the other hand, Bergs had a solid opening match performance against Michelsen. He enjoys playing on indoor hard courts, and we expect him to keep this match tight.
That being said, Bergs covering the games handicap is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Zizou Bergs +6.5 games handicap @2.00 @bet365
