Main photo credit:Mike Frey-USA TODAY Sports

12 second round matches are scheduled on Day 3 of the ATP Rolex Paris Masters, and every single match promises some great tennis action. This article features former champion Daniil Medvedev, who will face former finalist Grigor Dimitrov in a blockbuster clash. As always, we at LWOT will offer predictions for every match on the slate. But who will advance?

ATP Paris Day 3 Predictions

Lorenzo Musetti vs Lorenzo Sonego

Head-to-Head: Musetti 1-0 Sonego

The #7 seed, Lorenzo Musetti, will be looking to get his first win at the Paris Masters since 2022, and for that, he has to overcome his compatriot Lorenzo Sonego. Musetti is well-positioned to qualify for the ATP Finals, but his spot is still not guaranteed, and an early loss could complicate matters for the Italian. Sonego played a great match to easily defeat Sebastian Korda in the first round, but Musetti will be a much tougher challenge. Musetti is a good returner and won’t let Sonego dominate behind his serve as he usually does.
Prediction: Musetti in 3

Joao Fonseca vs Karen Khachanov

Head-to-Head: first meeting

Joao Fonseca defeated Denis Shapovalov for the second time in five days to get his first win at the Paris Masters. Fonseca once again lost the first set but found his game in the second and played some clutch tennis in the third set. The Brazilian called the physio in the third set, so it will be interesting to see if he is entirely fit for this match. Karen Khachanov was in a five-match losing streak before arriving here, but he played a great first-round match to break the streak. He is a former champion, and I expect him to keep bringing a high level.
Prediction: Khachanov in 3

Arthur Rinderknech vs Valentin Vacherot

Head-to-Head: Rinderknech 0-1 Vacherot

It’s the rematch of the Shanghai Masters final as two cousins fight for a spot in the third round. Both players won their first-round match in straight sets, but it was Valentin Vacherot who played at a super high level and gave no chance to Jiri Lehecka. Arthur Rinderknech would like to avenge the loss of the Shanghai Masters final, and he will have the crowd behind him. However, Vacherot is playing better tennis, and I am backing him to win again.
Prediction: Vacherot in 3

Daniil Medvedev vs Grigor Dimitrov

Head-to-Head: Medvedev 8-3 Dimitrov

Daniil Medvedev played a fantastic match from start to finish to beat the in-form Jaume Munar in straight sets. He has grown in confidence since the start of the Asian swing and will be looking to make another deep run this week. Grigor Dimitrov defeated the dangerous Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in his return from injury and looked good for the most part. However, facing Medvedev would be a completely different task and would test his fitness to the limit. The courts are also slower this year, which gives Medvedev the advantage.
Prediction: Medvedev in 2
