No. 1 seed Carlos Alcaraz of Spain and No. 2 Taylor Fritz will meet in the Japan Open final on Tuesday in Tokyo.

Alcaraz rallied for a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over No. 4 Casper Ruud of Norway and 2022 Tokyo champion Fritz booked his spot in the ATP 500 final with a 6-4, 6-3 defeat of fellow American Jenson Brooksby in Monday's semifinals.

Alcaraz fired 11 aces and saved three of four break points for his career-best 66th win of the season. Fritz, who defeated Alcaraz in Laver Cup action last week, struck 13 aces to reach his first hard-court final of the season.

China Open

No. 1 seed Jannik Sinner of Italy surged to a 6-1, 7-5 victory against Hungary's Fabian Marozsan and advanced to the semifinals in Beijing.

Sinner rallied from a break down by winning the last three games of the match, setting up a meeting with No. 3 seed Alex De Minaur of Australia. De Minaur was leading 4-1 when seventh-seeded Czech Jakub Mensik retired due to an injury. Sinner has swept all 10 previous matches with De Minaur.

In other quarterfinal action, 19-year-old Learner Tien was leading No. 4 Lorenzo Musetti 4-6, 6-3, 3-0 when the Italian retired with a left thigh injury. No. 8 seed Daniil Medvedev of Russia eliminated No. 2 Alexander Zverev of Germany 6-3, 6-3 in 83 minutes.
