With five of the ten "Bonus Pool" Masters 1000/Year-End Championships events now complete, Carlos Alcaraz has surged into the lead in the special year-end standings. The Spanish star has accumulated 2,410 points, establishing a significant advantage over his rivals at this stage of the season.
Alcaraz's strong position comes largely from his titles at the Monte-Carlo Masters and Rome Open, which alone accounted for 2,000 points and propelled him to the top of the Year-End-Championships race. The player who earns the most points from Masters 1000 events and the ATP Finals by the end of the season will receive a special monetary bonus, with decreasing amounts for subsequent places.
Following Alcaraz is Great Britain's Jack Draper, who sits in second with 1,960 points thanks to his Indian Wells title and a runner-up finish in Rome. Italy's Lorenzo Musetti is close behind in third with 1,600 points. Musetti reached the final in Monte-Carlo and the semifinals in Madrid and Rome, boasting an impressive 13-3 record on clay-court Masters 1000 events this season.
Casper Ruud holds fourth position with 1,410 points, primarily due to his Madrid Open title, while Jakub Mensik rounds out the top 5 with 1,330 points, largely from his Miami Open title.
The standings reflect strong performances in the designated "Bonus Pool" tournaments. Outside the top five, Francisco Cerúndolo is in sixth with 950 points. Grigor Dimitrov and Daniil Medvedev share seventh with 810 points each. Alex de Miñaur is ninth with 800 points, and Holger Rune completes the top 10 with 730 points.
Action in Masters 1000 events will pause for a couple of months, with Roland Garros and Wimbledon dominating the European summer schedule. The next Masters 1000 tournament, the Canadian Open, is set to begin on July 27th. Five more Masters 1000 events – all on hardcourts – remain, which will ultimately determine the recipients of the ATP's year-end Bonus Pool.
Jannik Sinner, who has only played one Masters 1000 event out of the five completed this season, currently has 650 points. However, a deep run in Canada could quickly propel him into the top 10 during the Canadian-Cincinnati double header leading up to the US Open.
