Coco Gauff gets an amazing on-court birthday celebration after an ecstatic first-round win over Elise Mertens. With this, the American secured her spot in the quarterfinal of the ongoing 2024 Indian Wells.

After two rounds of intense games, the American brought a fresh face to her match and swatted away her opponent. On her first day as a 20-year-old, Gauff dismantled her opponent without dropping a set. She won 6-0, 6-2, to earn her first bagel win of the season.

While her victory was fabulous, the post-match scenes at the Indian Wells added to the delight, as the interviewer Andrew Krasny saved Gauff from embarrassment. The regular mic wasn’t working, so Krasny decided to climb up on the chair umpire’s seat and wish Gauff a happy birthday.

Ladies & gentlemen, my mic isn’t working, so I’m gonna climb up here. Coco, can I just say to you happy birthday, young lady? I’d make you climb up here to do an interview, but I’ll spare you, Said Krasny as he allowed Gauff to celebrate her victory

A huge round of applause went on as Gauff left the stadium with her first win as a 20-year-old. After a couple of quarter-final and semi-final runs, the American made it to another quarter-final with hopes of carrying on the momentum henceforth.
