When you’re one of the biggest stars in tennis, it doesn’t take much to get fans buzzing. And Carlos Alcaraz, the 22-year-old world No. 2, has quickly found himself in that position. While his on-court brilliance speaks for itself, it’s his off-court interactions that have recently set social media ablaze.

The Spaniard has been linked—at least playfully—by fans to fellow tennis star Emma Raducanu, especially after the news broke that the two will be teaming up for mixed doubles at this year’s US Open. Now, with the pair spotted training together ahead of the tournament, the speculation has only grown louder.

A clip making the rounds on X shows Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz hitting some practice shots ahead of their upcoming matches. But while the two were focused on drills, fans in the comments seemed way more interested in something else—flooding the thread with questions and playful speculation.

A fan commented on the post saying, “when will they announce their relationship?”

Another fan with a similar doubt said, “They dating?”

“Love birds”- commented a fan

A fan got a bit too ahead of himself with a comment saying, “Training, Doubles match, Romantic dinner, Fathering a child.”

Focusing on the tennis a fan said, “Amazing strikes.”

“They can’t hit a ball in the court poor chemistry”- said a fan about the duo.

When Will Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz Play?

The US Open is shaking things up this year with a brand-new look for the mixed doubles, and it all kicks off today. Fans are in for a treat as Carlos Alcaraz teams up with Emma Raducanu in what’s already one of the most talked-about pairings of the tournament. For the first time, mixed doubles will be played on the two biggest stages at Flushing Meadows – Arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong – across August 19 and 20.

The lineup is stacked, too. Alongside Alcaraz, a five-time Slam champ, and Raducanu, the 2021 US Open winner, the draw includes Novak Djokovic pairing with Olga Danilovic, while Jack Draper and Jessica Pegula are the top seeds. In fact, Draper and Pegula will be across the net from Alcaraz and Raducanu in the round of 16. Unfortunately, Jannik Sinner and Katerina Siniakova pulled out following Sinner’s recent illness.

Matches begin at 11am local time, with Alcaraz and Raducanu slated third on Arthur Ashe on Tuesday, likely hitting the court around 2pm local time.
