Carlos Alcaraz is set to start his 2026 campaign later this month, adding another chapter to what’s already an impressive career.

The Spaniard was in top form throughout 2025, picking up eight tour-level titles, including Grand Slam wins at Roland Garros and the US Open.

He also regained the world number one ranking from Jannik Sinner, finishing the season at the top of the rankings.

In practice with Lopez ahead of the new season, fans have noticed that Alcaraz seems to be experimenting with a different serve motion. Many have compared it to Novak Djokovic’s style.

A recent clip shared on X, formerly Twitter, has highlighted a noticeable adjustment. The Spaniard is now taking his racket back with a much looser wrist, closely resembling Djokovic’s motion.

One fan said: “It’s looking very similar to Djokovic’s serve, which was improved by the great Goran [Ivanisevic].”

Another fan stated: “Very similar to Djokovic’s. Alcaraz to win at least three slams this year.”

This fan put: “Carlos and Jannik are each trying to improve their games year after year by trying to integrate more of Novak’s game into their own.”

One user said: “That wrist movement is so Djokovic!”

Carlos Alcaraz’s serve predicted by Serena Williams’ former coach

Although Alcaraz’s serve has always been solid, there was a time when it was considered the most vulnerable part of his game.

But over the past year, he’s turned it into a real weapon, adding another layer to an already impressive skill set.

Back in 2024, Serena Williams’ former coach Rick Macci pointed out that improving his serve could be key to helping him reclaim the world number one ranking. Speaking to Tennis 365 at the time, Macci said: “The key for Alcaraz will be his serve and getting free lunches or setting the table to eat right away. If his spots and percentages get better on the first serve, and this is with a few biomechanical adaptations, the Spanish Magician for many years [will] be in pole position.”

Alcaraz is now targeting a Career Grand Slam at this year’s Australian Open after adding Wimbledon last summer to titles at Roland Garros and Flushing Meadows.
