Carlos Alcaraz hit a ridiculous winner against Tommy Paul

Carlos Alcaraz was on his game Tuesday against Tommy Paul at the French Open.

Alcaraz dominated Paul 6-0, 6-1, 6-4 in their quarterfinal match at Roland Garros in Paris, France. The No. 2-seeded Spaniard started the match strong and finished just as strong.

Leading 5-4 in the final set and up 15-0, Alcaraz hit a ridiculous winner to seal Paul’s fate. Paul had run Alcaraz into the corner with a crosscourt forehand. Alcaraz chased down the ball and ripped a crosscourt winner in response that Paul had no chance of reaching.

That’s just a crazy shot to make, and it sure seemed like Paul knew he was complete toast when Alcaraz was making shots like that.

Cruising to victory over Paul was a nice change for Alcaraz after his four-set win against Ben Shelton in the fourth round. Alcaraz is now set to face Lorenzo Musetti in the semifinals. Musetti was lucky to avoid being defaulted after his actions against Frances Tiafoe.
