Outside of Grand Slam tournaments, ATP Masters 1000 events are the most highly sought-after titles on the ATP Tour. However, in addition to the prestige associated with winning one of these distinguished trophies, ATP stars now have the opportunity to make some extra money as they progress in these tournaments.
The ATP introduced the Bonus Pool of the Masters 1000, a prize money pool meant to incentivize and boost participation in the 'premium' tournaments, all Masters 1000 events. The cumulative prize pool consists of a 21 million euro prize, which will be distributed among the top 30 finishers at the end of the season.
The player in first place would have accumulated the most points from participating at all the ATP Masters events during the season, earning the lion's share of the prize money pool. This sum sits at 4.5 million euros, a significant bonus the player will earn in addition to their prize winnings from each ATP Masters 1000 tournament.
Former World No.1 Alcaraz currently leads the field, having accumulated 2410 points from competing in Masters events this season. The Spaniard is the second seed at the 2025 Cincinnati Open, where he faces Serbian Hamad Medjedovic in the third round on Tuesday.
The Spaniard reached the semifinals at the Indian Wells Masters event earlier this year, losing to eventual champion Jack Draper in three sets. After an early round loss in Miami, Alcaraz would life the title at the Monte-Carlo Masters.
The reigning French Open champion would withdraw from the Madrid Open, citing injuries to both of his legs. Nonetheless, Alcaraz would return at the Rome Open, where he defeated home favorite Jannik Sinner to claim his maiden Rome Masters title.
Sitting in at second place on the Bonus pool rankings is British star Jack Draper, with 1960 points. The 23-year old who won his first ever ATP Masters 1000 title at Indian Wells this year, and finished runner-up at the Madrid Open.
Draper has been in great form this season, reaching a career-high ranking of World No.4. However, the London native will have to rely on some excellent performances for the rest of the season, as the winner of the Bonus pool is determined by the conclusion of the year-ending ATP Finals event in Turin.
