Carlos Alcaraz’s 2025 season might go down as one of the best of his career by the time it is all said and done.
Following a slow start to the year, Alcaraz caught fire in April and did not cool off. He made nine straight finals between April and October, winning seven of them.
He also secured two additional Grand Slam titles, successfully defending his Roland Garros title in June before adding a second US Open trophy to his tally in September.
Even though he came up short against Jannik Sinner in the ATP Finals, Alcaraz still ended the year as world number one with 12,050 points.
On top of that, the 22-year-old had his best season yet financially.
Alcaraz’s Grand Slam performances brought in the bulk of his earnings, with his highest single payout coming from the US Open.
He also picked up over $1 million apiece for wins at the Monte-Carlo Masters, Italian Open, and Cincinnati Open.
By reaching the final of the ATP Finals, he added another $2.7 million to his total by season’s end.
This brings his total earnings for the 2025 season to $18,803,427.
It was a touch less than Jannik Sinner’s total haul of $19,114,396 over what was another remarkable season for both players.
Despite their huge earnings, neither Alcaraz nor Sinner broke the single-season prize money record, which still belongs to Novak Djokovic.
Djokovic’s historic 2015 season remains one of the most dominant in tennis history. He won three Grand Slams, six Masters 1000 titles, and the ATP Finals.
He earned $21,146,145 that year, which is still the highest total ever recorded in a single season on tour.
Djokovic also has two other seasons inside the top ten for ATP prize money: $15,967,184 in 2018 and $15,952,044 in 2023.
While Alcaraz set a new personal best with his 2025 total, Sinner did not quite reach his own peak from the previous year when he made $19,735,703.
