Jannik Sinner shook up the tennis world on Tuesday when it was confirmed by Bolshe that he was set to be coached by Carlos Moya when Darren Cahill retires at the end of the year. But this has since been denied by the legendary coach of Rafael Nadal.
Sinner has worked with Cahill for most of his success alongside Simone Vagnozzi who will presumably continue in his role going forward as was stated when the Aussie initially confirmed his intention to retire at the Australian Open.
He has worked with Andy Murray, Ana Ivanovic, Lleyton Hewitt, and Simona Halep in his career but perhaps his most storied role as of late has been with Sinner and after Halep's doping ordeal, he found new life with the World No.1.
But Moya who presumably hasn't signed if he is planning to become Sinner's coach hence why he has denied the reports would've been an interesting choice. His past collaboration with Rafael Nadal especially during the latter half of his career was storied and successful.
Moya worked alongside such coaches as Marc Lopez who has gone onto coach Jasmine Paolini successfully as of late and was seemingly set to coach Sinner in a similar setup to Nadal with Vagnozzi as head coach and Moya as co-coach as per the reports.
"Me Sinner coach from next year? Fake news the size of a house," said Moya as per Radio Nacional de Espana translated from Spanish.
Bolshe has previously reported top coaching changes including Marat Safin to Andrey Rublev and Dinara Safina to Diana Shnaider as well as reports surrounding Elena Rybakina and Stefano Vukov so whether it comes true in the fullness of time remains to be seen.
But for now at least Moya is both tight lipped and denying the rumours that have now circulated.
