After losing to Coco Gauff in the French Open final, Aryna Sabalenka received a ton of backlash for her post-match comments.
Sabalenka, the No. 1 player in the world, had 70 unforced errors during her three-set loss to Gauff. It was clear from the opening set that she wasn't on her game. She had chances to capitalize, but it was Gauff who came up big during the crucial situations.
Obviously, Sabalenka wasn't happy with her performance. She also wasn't pleased with the conditions at Roland-Garros.
"I think it was more windy. Also I think I was over emotional. Today I didn’t handle myself quite well mentally. Basically that’s it," Sabalenka told reporters. "I was just making unforced errors. I don’t know. I have to check the statistics. I think she won the match not because she played incredible. Just because I made all of those mistakes, if you look from the outside, from kind of easy balls."
Sabalenka also said that her semifinal opponent, Iga Swiatek, would've defeated Gauff had she reached the final.
"If Iga had beaten me the other day, I think she’d come out today and get the win," Sabalenka said.
As you'd imagine, tennis fans hated those remarks from Sabalenka. They said she came across like a "sore loser."
Even though Sabalenka made some questionable remarks following the French Open final, Gauff refuses to let that get to her.
In fact, Gauff and Sabalenka filmed a TikTok dance of them on Centre Court at Wimbledon.
"TikTok dances always had a way of bringing people together," Sabalenka wrote for her caption.
In case there were any doubts about how Gauff feels, the two-time major champion shared this message: "The olive branch was extended and accepted! We’re good so you guys should be too."

Now that it's clear Gauff and Sabalenka are back on the same page, fans should stop speculating about their relationship.
If anything, Gauff and Sabalenka are strictly rivals on the court.
We'll see if Gauff and Sabalenka meet again at Wimbledon. That would certainly draw a ton of eyes.
