In a new Daily Dose of Social Media, images arrive from Wimbledon as there's one week left until the start of the tournament, featuring a luxury training session between the women's and men's world No. 1s: Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner challenged each other in an interesting challenge while facing off in a practice.

On the other hand, the big stars of the ATP and WTA tours are already preparing at the All England Club, with Novak Djokovic, Elena Rybakina, and Coco Gauff among those seen in training today. Furthermore, legend Billie Jean King has already made her arrival at the tournament.

The grass is calling: Wimbledon stars hit the courts

With just one week left until the main draw, Wimbledon's biggest stars are already gracing the hallowed grounds of the All England Club, as qualifying matches kicked off this Monday. A video shared on the tournament's social media channels showcased Katie Boulter, Coco Gauff, Stefanos Tsitsipas, 2022 women's champion Elena Rybakina, and none other than seven-time men's Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic in their first practice sessions on the SW19 grass courts.

Jürgen Klopp trades football pitch for tennis court

Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp was spotted in the stands at the Mallorca Open, keenly observing Canadian Gabriel Diallo's victory over Jaume Munar and Frenchman Corentin Moutet's win against Pedro Martínez. The German ex-coach, who has resided in Mallorca for years, was also seen at the 2024 edition, where he even posed for photos with champion Alejandro Tabilo. This time, Klopp maintained a more discreet profile, casually greeting the cameras while enjoying the match as a regular spectator, sporting a cap and sunglasses.

Aryna Sabalenka embraces "many phases" in pre-Wimbledon photo dump

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka shared a series of photos dubbed "many phases of Aryna" after arriving at Wimbledon. The pictures show her in various outfits, from training gear and match attire to casual wear for strolls. Sabalenka arrives at Wimbledon aiming for her fourth Grand Slam title, despite consecutive runner-up finishes at the Australian Open and French Open this year. She remains a favorite, even after a semifinal loss to Marketa Vondrousova at the Berlin Ladies Open.

Tennis royalty arrives: Billie Jean King kicks off Wimbledon trip

Women's tennis legend Billie Jean King is already at Wimbledon for another edition of the tournament, sharing photos on social media with her wife, highlighting that it's her "63rd trip to The Championships." The former world No. 1 also met with men's world No. 1 Jannik Sinner and the 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic, greeting with both and posing for a few photos. The American, founder of the WTA, has frequently been part of the trophy ceremony, presenting the award on numerous occasions.

King boasts an incredible Wimbledon record, having won the singles title six times (1966-1968, 1972-1973, 1975), the doubles title ten times (1961-1962, 1965, 1967-1968, 1970-1973, 1979), and the mixed doubles title four times (1967, 1971, 1973-1974).

Sinner vs. Sabalenka: World No. 1s face off in Wimbledon practice

World No. 1s Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner faced each other in a lighthearted training session on the Wimbledon grass courts. The top-ranked male and female players went head-to-head in a challenge to be the first to knock a ball tube off the center of the court. The exchange, which featured forehands, backhands, and slices from both players, saw the Belarusian emerge victorious, successfully dislodging her opponent's ball tube first.

Both players will headline their respective draws at the tournament, alternating days for their matches. They arrive with the ambition of proving why they are the world's top-ranked players and will be looking for their first Grand Slam title outside of hard courts. Interestingly, they share the same number of major titles: two Australian Opens and one US Open each.
