Carlos Alcaraz recently spoke about the technological device he's added to his gear during his latest matches. The five-time Grand Slam champion reached the fourth round of Wimbledon after beating Jan-Lennard Struff in four sets, and is now set to face Andrey Rublev in the Round of 16.
The Spaniard is on a 21-match winning streak, securing back-to-back titles at the Rome Open, Roland Garros, and Queen’s Club Championships. His epic 5.5-hour French Open final against Jannik Sinner is still fresh in memory, where he saved three match points and claimed the title in a fifth-set tie-break.
Alcaraz leaves no stone unturned; his team works to leverage every aspect that could benefit him. He's been wearing a chest patch in recent weeks, a technology that helps him measure his sweat and hydration levels throughout the match.
"I always say that details make the difference,” the world No. 2 stated. “Yes, it's something to control sweat, to know what I should take during matches, before matches, to be at 100%. It probably only helps me one or two percent more. But I believe, as I said, that details make the difference. It's something I work on sometimes. I did it in Paris. I use it here to see what I should take."
Alcaraz will be back on court this Sunday against 14th seed Andrey Rublev. He remains a strong favorite to repeat his Wimbledon titles from 2023 and 2024 and will look to extend his career-best winning streak.
