The draw has been completed for Internationaux de Strasbourg which is due to take place between 18-24 May, 2025 and is a tournament on the WTA 500 tour the week before Roland Garros.
It is a quality field with lots of top names taking wildcards prior to the Grand Slam. Jessica Pegula is top seed. She could face a player she has had trouble with in the past in Anna Kalinskaya.
In her section also is a potential Quarter-Final against Danielle Collins or Sofia Kenin or it could be Emma Raducanu who too was a late entrant in. She faces Daria Kasatkina the sixth seed. After much injury issues, Paula Badosa returns to face Alize Cornet who despite retiring last year is back for more. The winner could face feasibly the winner of Linda Noskova v Liudmila Samsonova.
Barbora Krejcikova also plays for the first time this year. She won this tournament en route to winning Roland Garros and faces Magda Linette. They sit in Elena Rybakina's quarter who likely opens up against Xinyu Wang. In the bottom section, it is Emma Navarro.
The second seed will face either Magdalena Frech or Beatriz Haddad Maia then it will be an even tougher test as Elina Svitolina or Clara Tauson await who likely will face Ashlyn Krueger.
Svitolina also won this tournament previously en route to her return Roland Garros run. One that hasn't really stopped since as she has been one of the most consistent clay court stars this year alone.
Only Collins out of the final line-up last year returns though with Madison Keys not playing. Svitolina has won it twice in the past. So will likely be one of the favourites especially given she won Rouen also earlier this clay court season and aside to losing late to Stearns in Rome has been one of the players of the past two months.
