ESPN Makes Decision On Nick Kyrgios For 2025 Wimbledon Coverage

Nick Kyrgios won't be competing at Wimbledon this summer, but the door was left open for him to cover the tournament as a TV analyst.

Earlier this month, Kyrgios announced that he'll miss Wimbledon due to a setback in his recovery. He was also expected to compete in the ATP Stuttgart 250 but obviously that won't happen.

"I've hit a small setback in my recovery, and unfortunately, I won’t make it back for grass season this year," Kyrgios wrote on Instagram. "I know how much you’ve been looking forward to seeing me out there, and I’m genuinely sorry to disappoint. This is just a bump in the road, though, and I’m already working hard to get back stronger than ever."

Some fans were hoping we'd hear Kyrgios on commentary at Wimbledon, especially since he worked for ESPN during the 2024 season. Unfortunately for his fans, he won't be back in the broadcast booth.

According to Ben Rumsby of The Telegraph, ESPN won't be bringing back Kyrgios for its coverage of this year's Wimbledon Championships.

Telegraph Sport has also reported that told Kyrgios won't be part of ESPN’s coverage for the US Open in August. Maybe, just maybe, he'll be cleared for action by then.

It's unclear why ESPN won't add Kyrgios to its coverage for the remainder of the 2025 season.

Kyrgios made the Wimbledon final in 2022. It was the best result he has ever had at a Grand Slam tournament.

As of right now, it's hard to imagine Kyrgios getting back to that level.
