Felix Auger-Aliassime has joined Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner on a shortlist after his second round win at the Shanghai Masters.
After reaching the semi-finals of the US Open, Auger-Aliassime has kept up his strong form in Shanghai, booking his place in the third round of the ATP 1000 tournament.
The Canadian beat Alejandro Tabilo in straight sets to move into the last 32, and with that result, he’s matched a milestone previously reached by Alcaraz and Sinner.
Auger-Aliassime’s victory over Tabilo marked his 250th career win on the ATP Tour, a milestone reached seven years after his debut.
The Canadian is now just the third player born after the Millennium to reach that mark, following in the footsteps of Alcaraz and Sinner.
Alcaraz has tallied 276 wins so far, while Sinner leads with an impressive 305 victories since starting out in 2018.
Auger-Aliassime’s next opportunity to add to his total will come against either Jakub Mensik or Jesper De Jong.
The select group is not expected to add any new members soon, with the next likely candidate still quite a way off.
Holger Rune appears to be the closest of the next generation, but he remains 80 wins away from joining the list.
Since making his ATP Tour debut in 2020, Rune has collected 170 victories, though his pace this year has slowed compared to previous seasons.
The Dane has picked up 33 wins so far in 2025, suggesting it could be a few more years before he joins Alcaraz, Sinner and Auger-Aliassime in that exclusive group.
