Former World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz has been praised by Nick Kyrgios, despite having had an increasingly rough time, both physically and mentally. The Spaniard suffered back-to-back upsets at the Grand Slams, first at the US Open semi-final, where he was defending champion, and at the Australian Open, where he had faced a quarter-final loss to Alexander Zverev.

However, Nick Kyrgios had a few counter-intuitive words to the Spaniard’s form. While Alcaraz had been a winning machine prior to the US Open, especially around Wimbledon, he did not seem human, according to Kyrgios.

According to Kyrgios, while Alcaraz was not even close to his best game, it was irrefutable that Zverev was playing better tennis. Kyrgios also felt that Alcaraz was nervous during the match and the German was incredibly confident.
