Three generations of US Open champions reunited at the French Open, creating a "full-circle moment" at Roland Garros with Venus Williams, Sloane Stephens, and Coco Gauff. Williams, 44, is one of the commentators for the tournament's official broadcasts, having won two titles at Flushing Meadows in 2000 and 2001.

She was joined by 2017 champion Sloane Stephens, who is currently on a break from her career after a negative streak of over 10 consecutive losses and injuries that have kept her sidelined for some time. Amidst her break, she is participating as a commentator for TNT Sports.

Both former Grand Slam champions welcomed 2023 US Open champion Coco Gauff to the TNT set, as she joined both commentators in the tournament's coverage. Gauff, 21, recently advanced past the second round of Roland Garros, after defeating teenager Tereza Valentova – the 2024 French Open junior champion.

The trio spent about 20 minutes together, sharing experiences, with Gauff delighted to be with Venus Williams on the desk. "You and Serena are the reason I started this sport, and being here is surreal,” the world No. 2 stated. “I didn't know you were going to be at the desk. I'm really happy to be here. I'm having a little moment here, so I'm trying to get the words out ... I never thought when I picked up a racquet that I would be here, sitting with you, having this conversation."

The seven-time Grand Slam champion also praised Gauff, as well as former No. 3 Sloane Stephens. “I'm so glad you're here; because of you and Sloane, there are so many young girls who are picking up racquets, and that's so important," Williams said.

Venus secured her US Open titles by defeating Lindsay Davenport (2000) and Serena Williams (2001), both in straight sets. In Stephens' case, she overcame compatriot Madison Keys in 2017, while Gauff emerged victorious in her first major title in 2023, defeating current world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the final.
