'FYI, Roland Garros schedule': Novak Djokovic wants to avoid night-time French Open match on Saturday for one specific reason

Serbia’s Novak Djokovic has stated his desire not to participate in the night match of the French Open on Saturday, to watch the final of the UEFA Champions League. The final of the biggest club football competition is set to be played between Italian Serie A outfit Inter Milan and French champions Paris Saint-Germain at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Saturday.

Djokovic, who is currently taking part in the French Open, cemented his spot in the third round of the second Grand Slam of the year after beating France’s Corentin Moutet in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-2, 7-6.

Talking after the match, the Belgrade-born star spoke to the media and stated that he is looking forward to watching the Champions League final, provided he is allowed to do so, as he might have a third-round encounter at the same time. Djokovic also stated that he will support the French side in achieving the feat. "It's going to be PSG that I will support,” he said. “I will definitely watch it if I'm not playing [the] night session. Yeah, that will be nice [if I don’t have a night match on Saturday]. FYI, Roland Garros schedule…"

During his second-round triumph, Djokovic took a break to look after his foot, where it seemed he was experiencing a bit of discomfort. Talking about this, the 38-year-old stated that he feels fit and hopes to avoid any fitness issues in the coming matches.

"The recovery time is not much longer, I feel like. I mean, I'm pretty fit at the moment,” he said. “I don't feel like I have any major issues. Although it took me almost an hour to deal with the blister and the bleeding that I had. So that was not really a pleasant process. But I don't think it's going to be an issue for me to recover. [The] good thing about slams, obviously you have a day in between, so plenty of time to recover and get ready for [the] next one."
