'He's looked pretty comfortable until now': Tim Henman says Carlos Alcaraz's mindset will change againt Jannik Sinner

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are set to clash for the eleventh time in what promises to be a thrilling Rome Open final. Both young stars have established themselves as the new leaders of men's tennis, and this will be their first final encounter at the ATP Masters 1000 level. Former British No. 1 Tim Henman highlighted the key for Alcaraz to upset Italy's favorite.

After Alcaraz silenced the crowd with a straight-set victory against Lorenszo Musetti and Sinner's comeback win against Tommy Paul, anticipation is at an all-time high for Sunday's showdown.

Tim Henman has weighted in on the matchup, highlighting a crucial adjustment he expects form Alcaraz. The British observed that Alcaraz showed lapses in concentration during his semi-final win over Musetti, particularly after a dominant first set.

"I think when you reflect on [Carlos] Alcaraz, his concentration has been average, and I think that is because he has felt pretty comfortable against his opponents, with all due respect, " Henman told Sky Sports.

However, Henman believes the stakes and the quality of the opponent will bring out a different side of the Spaniard in the final. "Against [Jannik] Sinner, I expect him to have that focus and clarity of thought to say I cannot afford these lapses, dips in concentration and poor shot selections. So I want to see them at their best going head to head in a big final".

Tim also praised Sinner's unwavering concentration in his dominant quarterfinal win over Casper Ruud, noting, "He had so much respect for his opponent. That is why concentration and intensity were so good."

With both contenders showcasing stellar -and similar- finals pedigree plus a tightly contested rivalry, fans finally got the final match they've been wanting and the expectation at the Eternal City is off the charts.
