World number seven Holger Rune has announced that Patrick Mouratoglou will become his full-time coach with immediate effect.
It comes just days after Boris Becker revealed that he would be stepping down as Rune’s coach due to ‘professional and private responsibilities’.
Rune and Mouratoglou have a history of working together. They have known each other since Rune was just 13 years old and was supported by Mouratoglou’s ‘Champseeder’ Foundation.

Speaking on the new full-time partnership, Rune said he couldn’t be happier with the arrangement.
“I am excited to resume working with Patrick”, said Rune.
“With him I have achieved some of the greatest triumphs of my career so far, and I can’t wait for us to chase the next major titles together.
“Moving ahead, we have had good talks on how our collaboration should unfold, and we have agreed on a strong setup that creates the best conditions for my performance.”

Mouratoglou is mostly known for coaching tennis great Serena Williams for ten years from 2012 –2022. He has most recently been head coach to Simona Halep who is currently serving a doping ban from tennis but is appealing the decision.
Rune says he has high ambitions for his own career and development and believes Mouratoglou is the right man for the job.
“It is common knowledge that I am determined to win Grand Slam titles and reach that number one spot on the world ranking,” Rune said.
“That requires the right coaching constellation and team surrounding me. Sometimes you must try a variety of things to find out what works – and what does not.
“In recent months, I have learned a lot about what works for me, and I believe Patrick is the best person to lead the team and help me achieve my goals.”
