Jack Draper was defeated by Jiri Lehecka in a 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 loss in the semi-finals in a frustrating defeat at the Queen's Club Championships.

This was marred by Draper smashing his racquet off the advertising board in an uncharacteristic outburst as it saw the electricity cut.

Draper was left ashamed by his outburst but he said it was down to anger and sitting on a tightrope when nothing can go. He now heads onto Wimbledon which will see him as the main man.

He will have to deal with the pressure of being the top Brit who will have the glare of the media and the coverage. He will have to conduct lots of interviews and be likely on Centre Court. So he will hope this is a one time occurrence and not a mark of mental fragility.

Something he can't afford to slip in especially now given he is a top four seed at SW19. He spoke in the press conference about the outburst and why it happened.

"When you're not feeling great, when your energy is really low, you use everything you can to get yourself up. I'm almost getting angry to get fired up. When you do that, when you give everything you have, not just in tennis, like in anything, you're obviously a bit less mellow and playing a bit more on a tightrope," Draper said post match.

"So when you try your best and things don't go your way, it's easy to spill over. That's what happened out there. Like I said, I don't want to behave like that, in all honesty, but that's just the way I sort of am as a competitor. Sometimes I just play on a bit of a tightrope. I don't want to be behaving like that," he added.
