'I felt Novak revived his level from 2011 or 2015': Miomir Kecmanovic dazzled by Djokovic’s Wimbledon dominance

Miomir Kecmanovic was dazzled by the level his compatriot Novak Djokovic brought to defeat him in the third round of Wimbledon 6-3, 6-0, 6-4, in another remarkable performance by the 24-time Grand Slam champion. The world No. 49 stated that Nole has the level to keep winning many more Grand Slam titles.

The world No. 6 was practically impeccable throughout the match. He recorded 16 aces, had a 71% first-serve rate, winning 82% of them – plus 60% on his second serve. He only faced one break point when serving to close the match at 5-2 in the third set. Kecmanovic saw an opening and tried to stir things up a bit, but it was a minor distraction for Nole, who comfortably closed the victory in his next service game.

Kecmanovic – who had eliminated 30th seed Alex Michelsen in the first round and then Dutch player Jesper de Jong – had no doubts that Djokovic’s level is ready to fight for the title and recalled the best years of his compatriot. "I felt Novak revived his level from 2011 or 2015. If he continues playing like this, he can win 20 more Major titles. He served brilliantly and left me wondering what to do on the court.”

“I did not fear at the beginning of the match, but his level was just too high. The physical preparation made the difference. Novak could play like this for five more hours, which was not the case with me,” the former world No. 27 added. “His serve is not that strong, but it's very consistent and tough to read. He also finds the targets you cannot reach. Not to mention the mental aspect of his game."

Djokovic advanced to the fourth round – having only lost his service game once so far in the tournament. The 38-year-old will face 11th seed Alex De Minaur, against whom he holds a 2-1 head-to-head record. A year ago, their scheduled quarterfinal clash at Wimbledon was canceled due to an injury that forced the Australian to withdraw, giving Djokovic a direct pass to the semifinals.
