Alexander Bublik hilariously responded to an Instagram post highlighting his victory over Jannik Sinner. The World No. 45 secured the best win of his career after eliminating the Italian in the Round of 16 at the ATP 500 Halle Open.

The Kazakh—the tournament's defending champion from 2023—took revenge for their Roland Garros quarterfinal clash two weeks ago. He delivered the upset of the tournament, eliminating the World No. 1 with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 score. This marks Sinner's first loss to a player other than Carlos Alcaraz since August 2024.

Sinner was unable to defend his Halle title and falls in only his second match on grass courts this season. This means Sinner will head to Wimbledon with an 11-match record on grass courts.

Two weeks ago, Bublik achieved another Top-10 victory against Jack Draper in the fourth round of the French Open, reaching his first Grand Slam quarterfinal. There, he faced Sinner, who dealt him a significant defeat with a 6-1, 7-5, 6-0 score, ending Bublik's dream run.

The Kazakh, however, had taken that loss in good spirits, praising Sinner's high level of play. Fate brought them together again this week, and Bublik delivered the surprise. The World No. 45 once again had a humorous response after his match against Sinner. In a Tennis TV post showing the match point that sealed Bublik's win over Sinner, the Kazakh player himself commented: "I got him guys," Bublik wrote.

Bublik secures his first victory over a reigning World No. 1 and advances to the Halle quarterfinals. He will face Czech seventh seed Tomas Machac for a spot in the semifinals.
