'I got Sinner,' Hours before Daniil Medvedev and Jannik Sinner’s faceoff at the Australian Open finals, Patrick McEnroe reveals his bias

As he was walking through Melbourne Park en route to the Rod Laver Arena, the 57-year-old dropped his predictions. Surprisingly enough, he leans towards Sinner, who has had an amazing tournament so far. 

Taking my final walk through the park here over to the Rod Laver Arena. Sinner Medvedev, amazing to be back this year. Thank you ESPN for helping make that happen. I am leaning Sinner in a big way. He looked awesome in this tournament. Only X factor is it's his first Major final. 6th for Medvedev and won one. First time Medvedev is not playing Novak or Rafael in the final... based on what I have seen in this tournament I am leaning heavily to the youngster. He said

Furthermore, the brother of John McEnroe also revealed the one X factor that might pose some hindrance to Sinner.

This is the 6th Grand Slam final that Medvedev has been to, and it is only the first for the young Italian. The Russian had also won a Slam to add to his achievement, whereas Sinner is trying for his first final. Keeping this in mind, McEnroe picked his side for the all-exciting finals. 

Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev’s run ahead of the 2024 Australian Open finals

After playing many talented stars throughout the course of two weeks, only two people emerged victorious.

From one side of the draw, it is Daniil Medvedev who fought through hard rounds to earn his way into a second Australian Open final. 

Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner did the unthinkable on his side of the draw. He did not drop a set in the many matches up until the semi-finals. After fighting his way through the rounds, he was up against Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals. With the Serbian’s unbeaten record at the Australian Open, he went on to beat Djokovic and enter his first-ever Grand Slam finals. 

Having entered various ATP finals, Sinner is currently at World No. 3. He even faced Medvedev many times last year. Having faced the Russians in 4 finals, he won a total of two finals over the Russians.

However, even Medvedev has won a couple of finals over the Italian as well. With a whole different stage, where the stakes are higher, fans are excited for what the players have in store for them. With only some time for the finals to begin, fans gear up for the ultimate final battle to decide the new champion of Australia.
