Jaime Alcaraz, brother of five-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz, continues his rapid ascent in the tennis world, already looking like one of Spain's future stars. The 14-year-old was proclaimed European Champion with his country's national team this week, defeating Slovakia.
Jaime isn't just grabbing attention as "the brother of"; he's also making a name for himself in tennis, showcasing great talent and a clear intention to turn professional, following in his elder brother Carlos's footsteps. "The truth is I'm progressing faster than I expected," he told Radio Murcia Cadena SER.
The young developing tennis player already shows a conviction reminiscent of his brother's. "I hope to become like him, or even better," he stated after being a key player in Spain's victory over Slovakia. "The truth is I'm progressing faster than I expected."
The young Alcaraz seems to follow his World No. 2 brother's philosophy – balancing training with recreational time with his family, while recalling the advice his brother has given him. "My day-to-day is normal, training a lot, with friends, and also spending a lot of time with family," he said. "He doesn't give me many tips, but the most special advice we have in the family are the three 'Cs'. ('Cabeza, Corazón y Cojones' -"Head, Heart, and Guts").
