USWNT star Trinity Rodman will have the backing of No. 9-ranked ATP tennis ace Ben Shelton at Saturday's NWSL Championship match.
Shelton has travelled to San Jose to support his romantic partner. He is making sure that Rodman is relaxed ahead of the big match.
"Ben's here, so I've been hanging out with him on my free time, which has been really nice," Rodman told CBS Mornings. "I think for both of us, whenever we're together, we get to kind of not think about tennis and soccer, which I think people think we do a lot. But no, we try to use that time for relaxation and that's what we've been doing."
Rodman has also kept herself loose by spending time with teammates and playing board games.
"Obviously, being able to hang out with your team off the field and being able to play board games and all that has been super fun."

In 2021, Rodman won the NWSL Championship for the first time. She could add to her trophy haul on Saturday night.
The 23-year-old forward could potentially be playing her final match for Washington. Rodman is set to soon become a free agent in a matter of weeks. She has received offers from European clubs and one Gainbridge Super League club.
