Despite breaking out onto the tennis scene a few years ago, Emma Raducanu is still just 22 years old. Realizing this has led the British star to want to make the most of her time on the WTA Tour, as she admitted in a recent interview.

The former World No.10 broke into the spotlight after reaching the round of 16 at her home Grand Slam, the Wimbledon Championships, in 2021. Subsequently, Raducanu would embrace superstardom that summer, as she won her sole Grand Slam title at the US Open, entering the event as a qualifier.

Time goes by quickly, realizes Raducanu

However, the Brit would undergo numerous setbacks soon after her rise to fame. Raducanu dealt with several knee and ankle injuries that hindered her ability to compete on the tour, which led to her seeing a significant rankings drop.

Nonetheless, Raducanu has fought to regain her previous form, dealing with more injuries, coaching changes and personal matters along the way. Therefore, the former US Open champion has opted to follow a new mantra, where she lives her life without regret.

"I want to just really embody just having a good time and joy and I think I've really recently realized that what we do, it's for such a short amount of time, and it will go before we know it,” confessed Raducanu. “I was actually listening to Ana Ivanovic say the same thing. She said she wished she had enjoyed it more. Sometimes I want to go into the future and think: ‘Oh my God, am I going to regret not enjoying this moment?’
“I'm 22 now, so I'm like living for that person to not have any regrets to look back on. I want to bring joy to what I do and enjoy this time, because it's going to go by really fast."

With the Wimbledon Championships only a few days away and with thousands of home fans expecting a strong performance, Raducanu is dealing with a lot of pressure at her young age. The British star recently began working with former coach Mark Petchey, and has become more security conscious following a recent stalking incident involving a fan.

"Yeah, I think it really helps, because you're not gonna feel so comfortable all the time and to have those moments where you maybe open up and you're honest and you show a bit of vulnerability, you only want to do that with people that you're close to and that you can trust,” she revealed.
“You don't want to do the same or go into the same detail, if it's someone that you don't fully trust or believe in. So I think having that around when everything is heightened, really, it is very helpful, and sometimes also maybe your behavior isn't perfect, so for them to kind of know that it's not personal, and you are just carrying a certain amount, and you just need to let certain things out. It's very helpful to know that they're not going to take it personally."
