Jannik Sinner overtook Carlos Alcaraz and finished top of the 2025 prize money chart with a mammoth $25 million in earnings after Sunday’s ATP Finals title win.

Sinner briefly reclaimed the world #1 ranking from Alcaraz this past week. But he vacated that position after Alcaraz completed a clean sweep of group stage wins in Turin to finish the season in the rankings penthouse.

The Italian was not to be denied when it came to prize money, however, and slightly ahead of his rival. Despite missing three months of tennis because of a doping suspension, Sinner still banked more from on-court earnings than any other player this season.

How much did Jannik Sinner earn in prize money in 2025?

Sinner officially earned $19,114,396 from ATP and Grand Slam tournaments after another incredible season in which he reached all four Major finals and added the Australian Open and Wimbledon to his trophy cabinet. That is the second-highest single-season prize money in ATP history, behind Novak Djokovic’s record $21,146,145 million in 2015.

However, it is pertinent to note that Sinner was awarded a reported $6 million last month from winning the mega-rich Six Kings Slam exhibition in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, defeating Alcaraz in the final and taking home the largest prize money pot from a single tennis tournament.

While that amount is not factored into the ATP’s official standings, it is recognized as prize money, which is how tennis players are remunerated for playing tournaments. Sinner’s total prize money would exceed $25 million.

Like all top 30 players, Sinner was also entitled to a year-end ATP Masters 1000/Nitto ATP Finals bonus. In fact, he had the second-highest points total in this pool. But because he missed four mandatory Masters, he will forfeit his entire bonus according to the ATP’s participation rules. Sinner will be eligible for the second bonus category of ATP 500 tournaments. The official bonus figure will be known at the end of December/start of January, although it is unlikely to be a substantial number.

Who are the top five prize money earners in 2025?

While Sinner finished top, close rival Alcaraz was second with $18,803,427 in prize money from ATP-affiliated and Grand Slam tournaments. The year-end mean’s #1 earned an additional $1.5 million as a participation fee from the Six Kings Slam and is entitled to a bonus pay of at least $1 million for amassing the most points in ATP 500 events. That would take his final total past the $20 million mark, but still below Sinner’s. Alcaraz’s bonus pay in the Masters 1000 category will be reduced significantly for missing three mandatory tournaments.

Completing the top five are three WTA players. Aryna Sabalenka beat Serena Williams’ season prize money record. The Belarusian earned $15,008,519 in 2025. She made at least half of her fortune from winning the US Open and finishing runner-up at the WTA Finals.

Iga Swiatek, meanwhile, was fourth in the list. The Pole received $10,112,532 in prize money this season after winning her sixth Grand Slam at Wimbledon and ended the year as  world #2.

Newly crowned WTA Finals champion Elena Rybakina climbed up to fifth place after a sensational end to the season. The big-serving Kazakh earned $8,456,632 thanks to her undefeated run to the title in Riyadh, which generated a $5.2 million paycheck.
