Jannik Sinner hits new milestone after opening win in Roland Garros to join elite company

At just 23 years old, Jannik Sinner has added another impressive achievement to his growing récord list after a succesful debut in Roland Garros: 15 consecutive victories in Grand Slam tournaments this century. A mark that places him alongside some of the game’s biggest name: Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic, all of whom have put together similar or even longer streaks at the sport’s highest level.

Sinner’s rise has been nothing short of spectacular. After breaking through the Australian Open, capturing his first major title in 2024, the Italian never looked back. A US Open title followed later that year, and in early 2025, he successfully defended his crown in Melbourne.

Across those three tournaments, Sinner displayed a mix of power, precision, and tactical intelligence that has earned him respect -and fear- among his peers, not just for the wins, but for the maturity, control and overall dominance with which he’s achieved them.

What makes this streak even more impressive is the level of competition he faced. Men’s tennis is currently stacked with talent, and every Slam presents is absolutely filled of elite opponents. Yet Sinner has stayed locked in match after match, tournament after tournament fighting through tough draws and high-pressure moments with the kind of poise that separates champions from contenders. The Italian won 26 matches in a row from the 2024 China Open to Rome, only to fell short in the decisive duel against Carlos Alcaraz.

While his current streak still falls short of the legendary runs put together by Nadal (25), Federer (27), and Djokovic (30), Sinner is clearly on that trajectory. His generational rival, Carlos Alcaraz, has also hit similar milestones, but Sinner’s consistency and growth over the past year have been undeniable. Jannik has a good chance in Roland Garros to put himself a step closer if he manages to win the French Open, which would give him 21 triumphs ahead of Wimbledon.

Looking ahead, the goal is the same: keep building, keep winning, and keep chasing history. With three Grand Slam titles already to his name, a perfect record in Slam finals and the confidence of being the world No. 1 for more than a year now, Sinner is just getting started.
