Polish ace Iga Swiatek found no trouble as she faced Yulia Putintseva in the pre-quarterfinals. The two-time Grand Slam champion continued her dominant run at the 2024 Indian Wells where she has not dropped a set yet, beating her Kazakh opponent in straight sets.

In fact, Swiatek lost only three games in her fourth-round match. While the 21-year-old claimed the first set 6-1, Swiatek won the second 6-2 to close the match in 71 minutes. With this win, the Pole set herself a quarterfinal clash with Danish veteran Caroline Wozniacki who beat Angelique Kerber in the fourth round.

Jannik Sinner stuns Ben Shelton to take a lead in head-to-head record

Reigning Australian Open champion Jannik Sinner met American rising star Ben Shelton in his fourth-round match and it was expected to be a tight affair. The two players justified the hype as both Sinner and Shelton fought a neck-to-neck battle in the first few minutes of the opening set.

Although the Italian tried to maintain a lead, Shelton chased him and forced a tiebreaker. It was yet again a closely-fought tiebreaker before Sinner wrapped up the set with two consecutive winners. In the second set, Shelton looked a bit tired as Sinner fired winners with ease. The Italian won the second set 6-1 and won the match in 98 minutes and took a lead in their head-to-head record.

Carlos Alcaraz stays in the hunt at 2024 Indian Wells

Carlos Alcaraz has put all the troubles of this season behind him and has dominated the tournament so far. The Spaniard has dropped only one set so far and in his fourth-round match, the 20-year-old was as clinical as ever.

Playing against Fabian Marozsan, the two-time Grand Slam champion took some time to take off but Alcaraz was up and running as soon as he won a couple of games. Although Marozsan chased him till the sixth game, the Spaniard won three games on the trot to close the first 6-3. In the subsequent set, it was a repeat as Alcaraz again won it 6-3.

Alexander Zverev survives another scare against Alex de Minaur

German tennis ace Alexander Zverev avoided a double scare against Australia’s Alex de Minaur. As the sixth seed was defeated by the Australian in the United Cup, Zverev needed to win this match. However, it did not start well for Zverev as he conceded the first set 5-7.

But in the next two sets, the German ace did not repeat his mistakes and maintained a tight grip throughout the second set. De Minaur’s errors also benefitted the German as Zverev won the second set 6-2.

In the decider, Zverev maintained a lead from the beginning and eventually clinched it 6-3 to make it to his second Indian Wells Open quarterfinals.

Stefanos Tsitsipas fails to hold ground as Jiri Lehecka advances to quarterfinals

While Stefanos Tsitsipas managed to win his first two matches without much fuss, the Greek tennis ace perished against an upbeat Jiri Lehecka. The Czech ATP star did not give Tsitsipas any chance right from the word go.

Lehecka played aggressively and raced to a 5-1 lead in no time. While Tsitsipas tried to stage a comeback by winning the seventh game, it was too late by then. Lehecka clinched the next game to close the first set 6-2 in his favor.

In the second set, Tsitsipas fought hard and tried to keep up with his opponent. However, Lehecka maintained a lead and eventually won it 6-4.
