Jelena Ostapenko not in top 25 of alternative women's rankings despite Stuttgart win as Elina Svitolina closes in on top five after Rouen

Jelena Ostapenko may have won Stuttgart but that wasn't enough to find herself in even the top 25 of the latest alternative women's rankings ran by UTR which are still led by Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek and Mirra Andreeva.

Ostapenko sits in 26th just behind Emma Raducanu in 25th who if the rankings were like this in the main WTA would be British No.1 with Katie Boulter down in 38th in this one too.

Ekaterina Alexandrova was one of the big winners of the Stuttgart Open and she sits in 8th place after this past week. The UTR Rankings are based on current form from the last few weeks and months as opposed to reflecting results that occurred up to a year ago.

This system is used to promote fair and competitive play across the tennis world. All players regardless of age, gender, geography or skill are entered into this database and given a scale.

From 1.00 to 16.50 based on actual match results. It is open to players of all levels and gives an interesting insight as to the top of the game and who is in form and who is perhaps just a flash in the pan.

Taking into account the past few weeks Ostapenko has just won a title so doesn't figure as high as Alexandrova for instance who has shown continued form as of late. But shows the real form perhaps of consistency of all the top names.
