Iga Swiatek lost to Amanda Anisimova 7-6(3), 4-6, 2-6 in her WTA Finals 2025 match, which led to her exit from the tournament. After the loss, the WTA star claimed she played well and did not commit a lot of mistakes, and yet ended up losing. The Welsh wondered the reason behind her exit and felt she won many matches and tournament previously.

"It depends. But honestly, I did everything I could today, so, like, no regrets. I felt like, I mean, really, in the zone, like I I had, you know, a positive mindset. Okay, maybe some balls went short or something, but tennis is not like, it's not gonna be perfect," said Swiatek in the press conference.

"So like, I fought, and I really didn't give up. It wasn't enough, which makes me sad. But like, we all need to, like, find some understanding, I guess because when you do everything and it's still not enough, I guess it means that you just need to get your tennis better," Swiatek added.

"I don't really get why I couldn't go out of the group," - Iga Swiatek

While she accepted her loss, the star player wondered the possible reason behind it. She felt good physically, mentally, and added to have played a good game. Iga felt winning too much could have led to the law of averages catching up, leading to her loss.

"But I felt good mentally, physically and tennis wise. It was nice looking at the conditions and everything. So, so I don't really get why I couldn't go out of the group. I don't know, maybe I won too much in last year and this is karma," Iga added.
