Tennis star Naomi Osaka opened up about her personal life following a heartbreaking moment in her relationship.
The four-time Grand Slam winner took to social media to confirm her split with her boyfriend, rapper Cordae.
In her Instagram Stories, the Japanese tennis sensation shared a heartfelt message, explaining that the breakup was amicable and that there were no ill feelings between them.
“Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that Cordae and I are no longer in a relationship," Osaka posted on Monday. "There is no bad blood at all; he's a great person and an awesome dad."
Despite their romance ending, the 27-year-old tennis star expressed gratitude to her ex-boyfriend for giving her the “biggest blessing” she considers.

“Honestly really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing and I was able to grow a lot from our experiences together,” she wrote.
Prior to Osaka’s heartbreaking announcement, she shared a cryptic message on her Instagram story that seemed to be a hint about the breakup.
In her post, the tennis champion also spoke about the lessons she learned and how she's looking forward to “bigger and better” things that are coming.
“I've come to the conclusion that what's meant for me is meant for me and maybe certain situations occur to train my mind for what's to come," she further stated. "Maybe there's bigger and better things on my path and I just have to continue the journey to encounter them.
Osaka added, "That being said this is about to be a great year."
Osaka began dating Cordae in 2019. They share a 17-month-old daughter, Shai. However, they kept their relationship private until later that year.
In a 2021 interview with GQ, Naomi Osaka’s ex-boyfriend explained why they chose to keep their relationship out of the public eye.
“We were dating for almost a year before people knew about us," Cordae detailed. "So we kind of move very reclusively. We don’t really post intimate moments because I feel as though they’re sacred. A relationship is really a sacred thing."
The rapper added that the romance “becomes less sacred” when “you let outside influences get into it.”
