Tennis star Nick Kyrgios will not be a part of BBC's coverage of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, as the Australian was axed due to the negative reactions from fans over Kyrgios' assault of his former girlfriend, Chiara Passari.

The former World No.13 was a pundit at last year's Wimbledon, where he provided analysis and insight during the two-week Grand Slam event. However, fans were upset with his appearance during the tournament, leading to BBC opting not to invite him back for this year's edition.

ESPN also cuts ties with Kyrgios

The Aussie star had provided commentary and analysis for ESPN during the 2024 Australian Open. However, it has been reported that Kyrgios will not be returning to ESPN, as the media body has also chosen not to have him back.

Kyrgios has been hampered by injury over the past two years, although he made a brief comeback in 2025 where he lost in the first round of the Australian Open and Indian Wells. However, a new injury setback in June derailed his plans to compete at SW19, as the Canberra native announced he would not be playing during the grass court season this year.

"I've hit a small setback in my recovery and unfortunately won't make it back for grass season this year," Kyrgios posted on social media. "I know how much you've all been looking forward to seeing me out there, and I'm genuinely sorry to disappoint. This is just a bump in the road though, and I'm already working hard to get back stronger than ever."

The assault charges against Kyrgios were dismissed, despite the former Wimbledon runner-up pleading guilty to shoving his ex-girlfriend. In her judgement, Magistrate Beth Campbell said the act was a 'single act of stupidity' adding that the act was not planned or premeditated. Therefore, Kyrgios avoided a criminal conviction, and later stated he regretted the incident.
