Nick Kyrgios has revealed that he believes Carlos Alcaraz will not have a better career than Jannik Sinner for a shocking reason. The duo has dominated the men’s circuit for the past two years and has been predicted to continue with that for the next decade. They have also been likened to the Big 3 (Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal).
Alcaraz and Sinner have shared the last six Grand Slams on tour, since the start of last season. The former claimed the 2024 and 2025 French Open and last year’s Wimbledon Championship, while the latter won last year’s US Open and the back-to-back Australian Open. Both players have also won seventeen titles combined since the start of the 2024 season.
Also, they have faced each other on the court on multiple occasions, including their recent French Open final, which Alcaraz won in five sets. Alcaraz leads the Italian star 8-4 in their head-to-head record and has won all their last five meetings. In fact, Sinner has not beaten the 22-year-old since the start of last year.
In a video posted on Instagram by Patrick Mouratoglou, Nick Kyrgios revealed that the reason Alcaraz will not have a better career than Sinner is because he loves girls. The Australian star added that the Spaniard might get distracted and party too much, while Sinner will be focused:
Who do you think’s gonna have a better career, Alcaraz or Sinner? I’ll tell you mine first. I’ll say Sinner, because Alcaraz loves girls. He might get distracted, he might party too much. That’s my only thing, whereas Sinner will stay a bit locked in, I think.
Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu have been the subject of a light-hearted romance at the Wimbledon Championship. The duo is set to feature at the US Open mixed doubles in August-September. In addition, the pair were spotted together on multiple occasions during training at the All England Club.
Also, Raducanu was seen on the court side during one of Alcaraz’s matches at the Queen’s Club Championships. That has sparked rumors of a romance between the two even though they have both claimed they are just friends. Meanwhile, Sinner has not been in a relationship since breaking up with Anna Kalinskaya last year. Their relationship ended after a few months together.
Carlos Alcaraz is certainly the in-form player on the men’s circuit currently. The Spaniard has won 20 matches in a row, which includes his wins at the Italian Open and French Open. The last time he lost a match was at the Barcelona Open final against Holger Rune . On the other hand, Jannik Sinner is yet to win a title since his return to the tour following a three-month suspension.
Patrick Mouratoglou gave his take during the aforementioned conversation with Nick Kyrgios. The legendary coach revealed that Sinner is more consistent than Alcaraz in terms of performance on the court:
Sinner is more consistent in general. It’s more his mentality. If you look at this season, Alcaraz is losing a lot more matches than Sinner, so many more. And you think, he should not. Why [is he losing]? But because he is not always there. Even during the match, he has ups, downs [and] the other guy is like this [flat lines]. For that reason, yes [I think Sinner will be more successful].
However, he added that Alcaraz will end up having a better career than Sinner because of his advantage over the Italian star each time they faced each other:
But in the end, it is going to be all about the big ones and their head-to-head because they are going to face each other in the finals a lot. So, who is going to win most of the time [in the head-to-head] is going to be the one to have the most titles, and if you look at it at the moment, it’s Alcaraz. He has won the last five, five in a row.
Sinner and Alcaraz are in the third round of the Wimbledon Championship. The latter is a two-time champion at the event, while the former has only reached the semi-finals. They will be hoping to meet in the final of the competition as they did at the Roland Garros.
