  • Kyrgios felt he might be approaching the end of his career, given injuries and other factors

Nick Kyrgios, who has been out of action due to an injury, helped France's Richard Gasquet as his coach for the UTS Hong Kong Tournament. Following the veteran's exit from the tournament in the Quarterfinals, Kyrgios was asked his opinion on coaching the French star. The Australian claimed Gasquet to be a legend of the game.

He regarded himself to be honored to have been able to be next to Gasquet. "I really like it. He's an absolute legend of the game… all the players here respect him. It's an absolute honor to be next to him at the moment," said Kyrgios on coaching Gasquet for UTS Hong Kong.

The experienced player later added that he's still training hard to return to the court as a player. "I'm training pretty much every day and playing. I'm just not competing. The (ATP) Tour schedule is nearly done, but there are a couple of events that I'm preparing for," Kyrgios added as he replied to the host Josh Mansour.

"I'm getting to the end of my Tennis career now," - Nick Kyrgios

Nick claimed that there are a few tournaments which he's eyeing to play, although the ATP schedule for the year is done. Given injuries at his age where recovery can be difficult, the Australian felt he could be heading towards the end of his career.

He noted the difficulty of having to undergo surgery and be out of action for months together. "I do know that I'm getting to the end of my tennis career now, especially with all these injuries. I can't do another surgery where you're out for another six to nine months," Kyrgios said as he opened up on his future in Tennis.
