Novak Djokovic says his rivalry with Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer is a key reason for his continued success.

Djokovic beat Matteo Berrettini on Centre Court to win a sixth Wimbledon title and 20th career major overall – the same number as his biggest two rivals.

After the match, though, Djokovic was more interested in paying tribute to Federer and Nadal rather than bask in his own success.

“It means none of us three will stop,” Djokovic said when asked what equalling the record means to him.

“I have to make a great tribute to Rafa and Roger, they are legends of our sport and the two most important players I ever faced in my career.

“They are the reason why I am where I am today. They showed me what I needed to do to get stronger, physically, tactically and mentally. Over the last 10 years it has been an incredible journey that’s not stopping here.”

The Wimbledon title also keeps his dreams alive of completing the calendar, or even the career, Slam, and he says he will give it everything he has.

“I could definitely envisage that happening and I hope I will give it a shot.

“I’m in great form and played well and having my best form at Grand Slams is my number one priority.”
