"I want to retire at the Olympics in 2028 holding the Serbian flag," Djokovic said to the reporters after announcing he would not compete at the ATP Finals 2025. The 38-year-old had discussed the lines in one of his previous interviews. During a conversation with Slaven Bilić, Djokovic expressed his wish to be a part of the Los Angeles Olympics.

Speaking with the Croatian football manager, Novak said that the only thing that keeps him motivated enough at the point in time to aspire for longevity is to defend his Olympic gold. He added that playing for Serbia and having a long career in Grand Slams are two of his bigger aims. However, he added that winning the Olympics was his biggest motivation.

"The only thing that, at this moment, professionally speaking, I have in my vision at this point. And it's interesting when we talk about these achievements and the Olympics that stand out, and redemption," Djokovic said.

"The only thing that I have in my head, which gives me motivation, is the Olympics of 2028 in Los Angeles. And playing for the national team and Grand Slams. But not even the Grand Slams, not as much as the Olympics," he added in his statement.
